Microsoft® Skype for Business® is an enterprise-ready unified communications platform. With Skype for Business, users can keep track of their contacts’ availability; send an IM; start or join an audio, video, or web conference; or make a phone call-all through a consistent, familiar interface. Skype for Business is built to fully integrate with Microsoft Office. The Microsoft Skype for Business desktop client is available for Windows and for Mac and mobile versions are available for Windows Phone, iPhone/iPad, and Android devices.
How it works
Organisations can purchase Skype for Business Online as a standalone service or as part of a Microsoft Office 365 package that includes Skype for Business Online, Microsoft Exchange Online, Microsoft SharePoint Online, Microsoft Office Professional Plus, and Microsoft Office Web Apps.
Organisations that subscribe to Skype for Business Online retain control over the collaboration services they offer to users, but they do not have the operational burden of on-premises server software. Skype for Business is housed in Microsoft data centers and is accessible to users on a wide range of devices from inside a corporate network or over the Internet.
